Chicago girls weekend!

I have always joked about wanting to write a love letter to Chicago and now I get to! This blog post is basically a way for me to re live one of my favorite weekends ever! My sister and I are super close but we had never taken a trip just the two of us. It was something we have always wanted to do but hadn’t made time for. I won a flight voucher from my friend @mljvacay and we decided now was the time! We ate, we shopped, and we relaxed. It was magic!

The biggest part of the weekend were the Loews hotels we stayed at! I was SO excited to work with them and can’t wait to tell you all about it. Technically the review of them is sponsored but my opinion is all my own. Thankfully I have nothing but amazing things to say! We ate a lot of our breakfasts and dinners in their restaurants and obviously slept like rocks in the amazing cloud beds. The first night we stayed at their downtown property right by Navy Pier! We got in around 6 and I hadn’t eaten all day so I was starving. We dropped our bags in the room and immediately went down to the restaurant ETA Restaurant + Bar. I should have known it would be a good weekend based off that first meal because DAMN. We ordered a couple ETA burgers and the truffle mac and cheese and I don’t think we spoke one word until it was all gone. It was the best burger I have ever had so pro tip: get the burger!! Also wine. I definitely had some wine. Then we decided to take advantage of truthfully the worlds more comfortable beds and we relaxed all night!

Then we woke up the next morning and ordered so much room service! I have never done that before but Loews has a package that comes with a breakfast credit you can use for either room service or at ETA. So we did that and it was AMAZING. Between the amazing views from our room, the fluffy robes, and the amazing food it was a morning straight out of a movie. We felt like actual pop stars and loved it.

Then it was time for shopping! Eloqui has a store in Chicago and I was so excited to actually get to go in and shop! They are one of my favorite stores so to actually be able to walk in and try everything on was a game changer. My bank account was terrified but I managed to score a dress and a sweater for $60! I was definitely impressed with myself!

Then it was time for Navy Pier! I have been to Chicago a million times but never made it over there so I knew I wanted to this trip. It was a perfect day out and we walked right on over from the Loews. The leaves were all bright orange and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I couldn’t have been better! We went up on the ferris wheel and took a stroll through the botanical gardens. The best way to spend a day if you ask me!

We then walked back to the downtown Loews, grabbed our bags, and jetted on over the other Loews property they have in Chicago. The O’Hare location is right by the airport and we knew it would make traveling home the next day so much easier. The property was beautiful! And I can not say nice enough things about the staff. I don’t know if I have ever met a nicer group of people. And I couldn’t wait to jump into the bed again. I honestly might call them and see what mattresses they use they’re that good. We got comfy and then headed to the GIANT outlet mall right behind the hotel to shop. I finally got my hands (or should I say butt?) on some American Eagle jeans! Then it was time for Pizza! I love Giordanos but we ended up at Lou Malnatis instead! 3 orders of cheesy bread and wine later we almost fell asleep on the table. Highly recommend trying Lou’s when you are in town! It is SO cheap and SO good! We also swung by The Sugar Factory. I wish I could give the glowing review of this as I did everything else on the trip but it wasn’t great. Everything was super over priced and really not great. If we could go back we definitely would have skipped it. But the photos were fun!

Then we headed back to the Loews O’Hare and grabbed a couple drinks at The Ashburn which is connected to the hotel! The bar tenders were excellent and made the wine that much better. I tried 3 different reds and loved them all. Are you surprised? I’m not! We also had a package when we stayed at the O’hare location so we were back at the Ashburn the next morning for breakfast. We got to meet the chef and he even made a hidden eggs benedict that’s not on the menu for us. It was the absolute best breakfast I have ever had!

We are flying out that after noon so we wanted to hit the outlet mall one more time! It is definitely too big for one day! Also part of the Loews package comes with a $50 gift card to the mall and it was burning a hole in my pocket! I knew there was this sweet little Michael Khors bag that I had my eyes on. They had it at the outlet mall marked down to $166 and then an additional 40% off. After the $50 gift card that means I only spent $60 on it! Emily scores again!

We then jetted back to the hotel before heading out to the airport! Loews has a complimentary shuttle to O’Hare which was incredibly convenient. I was truly so sad to check out. The experience was unmatched and I will absolutely be back to stay again!

It was an amazing weekend and I am so glad I got to spend time with my sister. It was something I wont forget anytime soon.
